The Italian and Hispanic studies collections serve the needs of faculty and students in the French, Hispanic & Italian Studies Department as well as a number of other departments across campus, including the Classics Department, the History Department, and the comparative literature program. The library supports teaching and research for programs leading to the degrees of: B.A., M.A., Ph.D. in Spanish; B.A., M.A. in Italian; B.A. in Romance Studies; B.A. in Romance Languages.

The majority of acquisitions will be for current publications.
Italian, Spanish, to a lesser extent Catalan, Portuguese, Rumanian. English translations of primary sources, and secondary sources translated or originally published in English. Coverage in English for the history and culture of the Luso-Hispanic world.
