This fall, UBC Library is pleased to announce the purchase of three large multidisciplinary ebook packages. These collections were selected based on the quality of content and demonstrated usage by the UBC community in previous years.
Whenever possible the Library purchases ebooks that allow for unlimited simultaneous online users, and that have no (or minimal) Digital Rights Management restrictions on downloading, copying, or sharing.
University Press Scholarship Online 2016 (UPSO)
University Press Scholarly Online (UPSO) offers full-text content to books from 20+ scholarly presses, including Oxford University Press, University of Chicago, Yale, Stanford, and MIT. For 2016 UBC Library has purchased ebooks from 20+ presses in these subject areas:

The Association of Canadian University Presses/Association Des Presses Universitaires Canadiennes represents 16 Canadian scholarly and university presses: University of Alberta Press, Athabasca University Press, University of British Columbia Press, University of Calgary Press, ISER Books (Memorial University), Presse de l’Université Laval, University of Manitoba Press, McGill-Queen’s University Press, Canadian Mennonite University Press, Les Presse de L’Université de Montreal, University of Ottawa Press / Les Presses de l’Université d’Ottawa, Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies, Presses de l’Université du Quebéc, University of Regina Press, University of Toronto Press, and Wilfrid Laurier University Press.
The Library has purchased approximately 700 titles from the 2016 publication year. This is the third year we have purchased this collection, providing online access to over 2100 titles published in 2014-2016.

Harvard University Press
UBC Library has consistently purchased this yearly package of ebooks from Harvard University Press. This year, the Library has purchased the 2016 package of titles in the areas of history, law, literary studies, literature, philosophy, religion, science, and social science. This brings our collection of ebooks from Harvard University Press to more than 500 titles.
Edward Elgar Publishing – Law (Academic) Package
UBC Library has selected the 2016 Law (Academic) Package of 124 titles, adding to the collections purchased in 2014 and 2015. The 300 titles now available cover core law areas, and also topics of interest to researchers in diverse areas including human rights, technology, energy, the environment, intellectual property, new media, as they relate to the law.
Princeton University Press and University of Pennsylvania Press
A selection of ebooks from the 2016 publication year of these two academic presses have been purchased on the JSTOR platform and cover disciplines in the humanities, social sciences, and life sciences.
