Caribbean newspapers from the American Antiquarian Society, 1718 – 1876 

Provides complete facsimiles of every available issue of over 140 newspapers. Included are eyewitness reporting, editorials, legislative information, letters, poetry, advertisements, obituaries and other news items. Most of these newspapers were published in the English language, but a number of Spanish-, French-, and Danish-language titles are also provided.

Comprehensive physiology

Comprehensive Physiology is one of the most authoritative and comprehensive collection of physiology information ever assembled. Its starting point is more than 30,000 pages of content from the American Physiological Society’s renowned Handbook of Physiology (HoP) series, which is presented here for the first time in an online format. Since the launch of Comprehensive Physiology in January 2011, quarterly issues of brand new content that expands on the classic content from HoP are also being released.

Encyclopedia of ancient Greek language and linguistics

A systematic and comprehensive treatment of all aspects of the history and study of Ancient Greek comprising detailed descriptions of the language from Proto-Greek to koine.

Erudition

Contains 16 databases on Chinese studies by the Eudition’s central server in the U.S. Currently the following 9 database are accessible:

NewspaperDirect Library PressDisplay

Library PressDisplay provides access to today’s newspapers from around the world in full-color, full-page format.  The collection currently includes more than 2,000 titles from 100 countries in 56 languages.  Just like reading the familiar print edition, viewers can browse articles and other key content, such as pictures, advertisements, classifieds, and notices. The service also provides up to a 60-day backfile and the ability to perform keyword searches across all titles and the entire backfile.  Users get access to a wide-range of current newspapers from Europe, Latin America, Asia, the Middle East, and the U.S.

PsycTESTS

PsycTESTS is a database that provides information about psychological tests and measures. It includes citations to articles that discuss the test and how it can be used. Some information about the test is taken from the articles and presented right in the database. In many cases, the full test (or a document with a selection of test items) is available to download as well.

Social Exlorer

Demographic information about the United States including:

  • The entire US Census from 1790 to 2010.
  • The entire American Community Survey (ACS) from 2005 to 2011.
  • All annual updates from the American Community Survey.

Data visualization tools, including interactive maps and charts, permit  “unparalleled exploration of demographic and social change, revealing the patterns buried in raw numbers.” Users can create and save reports and/or download data to a variety of statistical packages.
